The primary issues identified were the low utilization of plastic waste and the limited public knowledge regarding waste management with economic value. The program employed the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, consisting of socialization, observation, training, demonstrations, hands-on practice, mentoring, and evaluation. The activities actively involved lecturers, university students, village officials, farmers, and local community members throughout all stages of implementation. The results demonstrated significant improvements in community knowledge regarding waste management based on the 3R principles (reduce, reuse, and recycle), enhanced participants' skills in independently producing Hydrobokas planting media, and increased public awareness of transforming plastic bottle waste into products with practical and economic value. In addition to contributing to environmental conservation through plastic waste reduction, the program created opportunities for developing creative economy-based microenterprises, strengthened household food security through home gardening, and fostered collaboration among universities, village governments, and local communities. Therefore, the Hydrobokas-based community empowerment model has strong potential to be replicated in other regions as a sustainable strategy for plastic waste management while supporting the implementation of a circular economy and sustainable rural development.
Abdul Bahits, Indah Rahayu, Nadya Khairunnisa, Rini Hernita, Erlangga Dwi Putra, Muhammad Reyhan Ferdiansyah Copyright (c) 2026 Abdul Bahits, Indah Rahayu, Nadya Khairunnisa, Rini Hernita, Erlangga Dwi Putra, Muhammad Reyhan Ferdiansyah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ijecsed.esc-id.org/index.php/home/article/view/263 Thu, 30 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 IMPLEMENTASI PENGEMBANGAN BAHAN AJAR NAHWU BERBASIS KONTEKSTUAL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN SINTAKSIS BAHASA ARAB DI MA FIRDAUS PANGALENGAN https://ijecsed.esc-id.org/index.php/home/article/view/264
This Community Service Program (PkM) aimed to implement the development of contextual-based Nahwu teaching materials to improve Arabic syntax comprehension among students at MA Firdaus Pangalengan. Low public awareness regarding waste management, along with the large amount of inorganic waste disposed of improperly, has become a major factor contributing to waste accumulation in the surrounding environment. This condition has worsened due to the lack of adequate waste disposal facilities, which may lead to environmental pollution and various public health problems. As an effort to address these issues, the Community Service Program (KKM) Group 24 students of Universitas Bina Bangsa initiated the Rocket Stove program as an educational medium for promoting the utilization of waste as fuel. This program aims to help reduce waste accumulation within the community while also minimizing air pollution, as Rocket Stove produces lower smoke emissions compared to conventional burning methods. The program was implemented through several stages, including socialization, planning, stove construction, and community education regarding its use and benefits as a more environmentally friendly combustion method. The Rocket Stove was constructed using materials that are easily obtained from the surrounding environment and served as a learning tool for introducing the utilization of waste as a fuel source. The results of the program indicated an increase in community understanding regarding the operation and benefits of this technology as an effort to reduce waste accumulation and control air pollution.
