PEMBERDAYAAN PETANI KOPI ARABIKA MELALUI MODEL TERINTEGRASI HULU-HILIR BERKELANJUTAN DAN PEMASARAN DIGITAL DI KELURAHAN SAPAN, TORAJA UTARA

Toraja Arabica coffee is a world-renowned specialty commodity, yet micro-farmer groups in highland origins such as the Melona Coffe Group in Sapan Village, Buntu Pepasan District, North Toraja Regency, still suffer from upstream cultivation inefficiencies and fragmented downstream commercialization. Major constraints include unpruned senile trees, non-certified seedlings, lack of soil acidity monitoring, postharvest drying without hygienic sheets, lack of standard packaging, and zero adoption of digital marketing channels. Most previous community service studies exhibited a research gap characterized by fragmented interventions (focusing exclusively on agronomy or downstream trade) and lack of participatory precision technology transfer. This community engagement program implemented a Closed-Loop Integrated Upstream-Downstream Model using the Participatory Action Learning System (PALS). Interventions encompassed: (1) precision Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) (certified seedlings, systematic pruning, digital soil pH monitoring, integrated organic fertilization), (2) hygienic postharvest upgrading (food-grade drying tarps, digital scales), and (3) downstream agro-branding (brand development 'Melona Coffe 01 Sapan - Banteuma', sealed standing pouch packaging, and omni-channel digital promotion via TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Business). Results indicated a 100% achievement across all performance metrics. Upstream cultivation capacity increased from 30% to 100% (N-Gain = 1.0; high), downstream marketing competence surged from 25% to 100% (N-Gain = 1.0), and appropriate technology adoption reached 100% from an initial 0%. This participatory closed-loop value chain model proves highly robust in accelerating agro-enterprise autonomy and securing premium value addition for Toraja specialty coffee.
